hi friends i took my step 1 yesterday ,
well,few days back i was suffering from insomnia and got really really frustrated and i thought i will not make it for the exam , THANK GOD,my parents came rushing thro and gave me moral support , most importantly i followed my guru's advice ,who else , it is kingsofke ,really guys , plz do not study the day before the exam , i went for a long walk and shopped and went for the movie KING KONG , it took me all my anxiety for my big day , was following sleep ritual for atleast three days before the exam , like warm bath and warm milk before going to bed ..........well my axiety came down to ground zero,i slept for 8 hours the night before the exam, felt fresh and , not even a bit of anxiety , i was surprised at this cause i used to think that i will have lots of anxiety the day before the exam........and i did a block in Q book , i wanted to do this to get the flow for the exam from the first block itself ,it really helped , and i kept reviewing my notes , just to keep out of negative thoughts to get into my mind , and got into the centre ,i took my time for each question , marked those which i was in doubt but never had time to go thro it again , cause i knew this was my way of test strategy ,
i have never done more than 4 blocks a day , but just had some confidence that i can give my best shot
,my first four blocks were good and my fifth block was so much long and i got frustrated after that block , but just kept calm and went in for my 6 th block , were i hardly had energy , but i tried in vain,if i lose my score , i think it will be in this sixth block only and for the sevventh block i took lots of glucose and tea and i think it went on well.................
well guys , i remember lots of NEUROSCIENCE ,even embrology was related to neuroscience , and pathophysiology was also another major one ,quite a few pharma questions and rest of the subjects were thrown in ,
as for behavioral science , many statement questions of doctor -patient relationship,and for genetics and biostats , few questoins were so weired , made lots of silly mistakes in pathology, and my neuroscience was good enough i think, know ur endocrinology and haematology well, few questions were so easy , i came out frusrated at the same time happy thinking that my step 1 life is over ,i doubt i can get a high score ,and now i m thinking what to do , whether to start my step 2 prep or to just keep waiting for my results,................
plz take NBME , the questions r simmilar to NBME and the level of difficulty is simmilar to NBME ,i took it 15 days back,as for the Q bank , i think online Q bank was good for the pratising ur time management ,the online q bank has the same software as the real exam , so i think i got used to it and in my exam it helped ,
listen to goljan , he is good , cause in exam while going thro few question , i heard goljan's voice saying this is it ................
most importantly , be in the guidance of great hearts , for it was kingsofke , he is worth all the praise , cause he was there for me when i was down and gave me a great moral support ,
for now i just gotta keep waiting ,.....................

hi karusmle...best of luck with ur results...so when r u starting step 2 prep?
i will start by the end of jan as after a week i m going to pakistan to visit my parents...will stay there for 3 weeks...
btw tell me frm where to get info abt which books to study for step 2....
plz do tell me if u get any info abt it
