Is not the same, i think moonlighting is when u are allowed to do extra paid job during residencia program

Yes, " moonlighting" is working extra night shifts and being extra paid for this( who would refuse $400 for one night!). Usually it is not allowed during first year of Residency and the Resident must do well with his/her routine residency duties.

i was told 1 place that IMGs are not allowed to do moonlighting.a resident at an interview told me.

Persons on a J-1 visa are not permitted to moonlight. Moonlighting takes place outside of the educational activities.

Persons on an H1B visa can moonlight if it's written into the description.

Most places will require a permanent, not residency, medical license.
