Cohort

Just an after thought...could it be a clinical trial...as they are carrying out tests and stuff..i thought to label a study as a clinical trial there should be an intervention....you wouldn't categorise cultures and serological studies as intervention...would you?

p.s...vemi...please add NBME-3 to the questions you are posting...as i posted in the support forum...it spoils self assessment for people who ar yet to take the exam!...Thanks!

sorry it is cohort study

  #6

NO! this is a simple Case-control study guys.

for Cohort they FOLLOW two groups of people who are HEALTHY at the begining of the study and see how many GET the disease AFTER the study has begun.

here they are already starting off with taking samples to see how many are ALREADY having the disease.

DARIUS.....The answer is Cohort.....read carefully the Q
It gives you the clue.....they ask and imagine everything in future tense, besides
you cannot determine incidence with a case-control study.

What do U think?
