At what age is a congenital branchial fistula/sinus usually seen? From the description it appears that it should be present since birth, yet the usual age at presentation is given as a later age.

BRANCHIAL CLEFT FISTULA

-a congenital abnormal tract connecting the skin of neck w/ an internal structure resulting fr failure of closure of a branchial cleft.

-All present at birth although may remain unnoticed for some time.

Branchial cleft cysts may not present until later childhood.

It must be a really small hole in the neck then. I'm yet to see a case. Thanks for the explanation.nod
