good on ya aisha. yes, i never get to really finish the last 2 chapters in any subject. but that is the way to do it. move on. they are going to tes every single subject so if i know one subject 100% and know another 45% it will not do. better to know each subject 75%!
hopefully by our revision weeks we will be able to read those chapters.

well could not complete the 4 chapters i wanted to just did 2 , so now im goin to start with anatomy , right now dont feel like doin the left overs  , woke up 5:30am and could nto study much bocz my son woke up as well , then suddenly my hubby remembered he had an appointment with his dentist and needed me to drive him there bocz of the anasthesia he would be gettin , so i hardly got any time , tryin to get as much as possible things done in wat ever time i have , so now 2:20pm and startin anatomy.

thankx for the link tolito , havnt read the post yet but right now i have soooooooo many things to do ..... will take some time out tonight .
finished histology and the first 4 tiny chapters from embryology, did 20 Qs , and found some things missin in kaplan ( histo )so added some notes from the Qs and added some other tables from HY , guys this book is amazin , if u have the time do this book and if u dont understand any concept from physio try look it up in the HY histology , as i dont have the time to go through this book right now im stickin to my kaplan notes , today gross anatomy will try to finish by sunday or as soon as possible and will start the BIG thing NEUROANATOMY after that ........ will keep doin the Qs as well .

aisha, it seems you are on the right path, anatomy is cool, except for neuro, heck I regret not giving it more time during my 1st years of school, it was so hard for me to get it cold this time, but it is finally in my hard drive jeje, wish you good luck with the big monster  Best of luck.

4mymd thankx, so much for the right path but wkends r very difficult for me im over worked and hardly get time to sleep leave alone time to read ......... so i was not able to finish anatomy and but i was able to do some 31 Qs on saturday , so tomorrow ill start with anatomy and see how much ill able to finish tomorrow and then dependin on that ill decide when ill be startin with neuroanatomy.
im so furstated , i have been tryin to work some thing out so i can keep the same pace or a lil less on a wkend as the wkdaysand im not able to do so , so im wonderin if any one else specially moms r havin the same problme and if so how r u workin it out.

Dear Aisha
I think that it is tough to be a mom and study as well. But i also think that Moms are given more strength and energy by nature than ordinary people. So if you have to face more challenges , be assured that you are also given more to face them.
This is a positive way of looking at it  . isnt it. I hope you will find a way.

yes Aisha, I feel the same way, weekends are lost in the terms of studying, but take the good side of this, this is the time you spend with your family , it's a precious time ....
I'm doing qs on weekend and if I have time I read FA and that's it. So don't be discouraged and try to use at max the free time. You are doing good, keep going

ok so i think ill have to live with it ........ ur right vallia i do the same some times, FA n Qs , but like this wkend i could not do that even and the problem with me is that if i dont study 1 day it kind of off sets the next day and my concentration and speed is down dramaticaly , im an easily distracted person , wat can i say , but malik is right also ,its amazing that the things i never thought ill able to do im doin them every day like its nothing , like doin every thing without gettin proper sleep , for me this is amazin , but i guess ill have to find a way out , and ill try to stick to Qs and doin FA on wkends and not keep any thing specific to study , may be thats upsettin me when im not able to do wat i was suppose to. thank u guys

It is not only a problem with you. I think it is the nature of the brain. If you maintain continuity, you will absorb more in less time. But, if you discontinue things, it will take more time. That is the reason these days, I made it a point to allot few hrs EVERY DAY if it is not possible to read the whole day.

Family, Kids.....are a distraction...yes! Before I started seriously last month, I told my wife that I will have to spend most of my time remaining to USMLE if I am not working at my job. I just told her if it is not agreeable, I will just STOP studying and will start only when it is possible to allot most of my time to USMLE. I am not a kind of person who can juggle many things at once and I think I may be right as this may hold good for everyone of us. She gave consent and ever since she cooks, takes care of the baby, she goes to walmart etc for shopping, housecleaning and what not. I told her that I will spend time with my kid only after 1 or 1 1/2 yr. It does not common sense if we think we can achieve everything in life - Family and USMLE. One of them has to be kept aside. I know I may feel guilty but well, we need to sacrifice something to ACHIEVE what is important in life. It is true to an extent for everyone. I know some friends (girls) who have kids but successfully completed STEPS. While they studied for USMLE,their husbands took care of their kids 100 %. Taking care of kids is no more only a woman's job. I applied leave and took care of my kid 100 % for 20 days when he was born as my wife had C/S and no family with us. Now, it is my turn to study.

ur right ....... and i think im lucky to have a very understandin and suppotin husband , but kids r unpridectable , some times they just need/want there mom n nothing else , but im tryin to manage things , and i think ill be able to manage things much better on wkends , i shoudl accept that when i things start to get lil out of hand i give in as well , which shouldnt , i know its just a matter of few days and ill be able to get through this , just have to be persistant .
ok , so today i was able to finish first 2 chapters from gross kaplan with the dvd lectures , i.e chapter 1 back & nervous system and chap 2 thorax. plus i did 20 Qs from Q bank which i finaly bought last night , will do some more Qs tonight .........

yes aisha, when you do not achieve your goal for the day you feel frustrated. the down side is if we are not careful, we get depressed thinking about all the lost time. but do you know what the good side is? a time table reminds you of the amount of work you need to do so if you are behind you are gingered up to spend more time at the next opportunity that you have. then when you look back at what you 'wasted' your time doing eg, painting with your daughter, going for a soccer game with your son, having dinner with friends, going to the movies with your husband, or just relaxing in front of the tv with family, i tell you, these are the best times in the world

ok for today , startin with Q bank + explanations , then abdomen , plevis & perineum ( chapter 3 ) along with the dvd.
its takin longer then i thought bcoz i decided to do the dvd as well , which i was plannin not to do , plus i think that kaplan dose not cover the clinical correlates very well , so im readin the clinical correlates from HY , so i guess ill finish anatomy thursday inshallah .

Good going aisha..yes, we think anatomy we can just finish off, but that really takes time..thats right, aisha, u make sure u know all the clinical relevant topics..and associted things, that is the only thing they will ask..ofcourse thats what it makes important and thats what we should concentrate..all the best.

UPDATE........ did 50 Qs this mornin it took 2 1/2 hr to do the Qs and then go through the explanations, then started abadomin dvds , that took alot of time and i still have to go through the Hy clinical correlates plus i want to go through the chapter once more , just want to do it properly. So ill sit and read that and just do as much as possible and then do the rest tomorrow
Tomorrow will start with Qs again, then will do upper limb and lower limb

hi aish hows your son well anatomy is quite good with the lecture what is says is high yeil is and the stuff that he leaves out really isnt important my friend took live lectures and she saud he said the same thing that he said in the videos so the videos make it easier how are u doing in your questions keep on studying even one page is progress

thankx guys , im doin good so is my son , well im finaly gettin over with anatomy tomorrow ( still have neuroanatomy ) so im happy about that , now ill start with neuroanatomy.
so today i finished UL n LL , did 50 Qs with explanation ,read the HY clinical correlates and i think femal doc ny is right kapaln is very much more then enough , the only 2 nice things i found were tables on UL nerve lesions and the LL nerves lesion .
tomorrow morning will start with 50 Qs then will do Head n Neck ............ good luck every one

hi , hope every one is doin great , god see how time flies , wk after wk , well as im lookin at the calender i realize that one more wk and it will be May , and im/was  plannin for july ,about which im feel a lil doubtful , but ill try to keep the same target and then take NBME first wk of june see where im and then descide wat to do .
another thing i realized after i read that post by general malase that i have to spend some substantial amount of time on FA , which i havnt touched yet , i have been plannin to give a wk to FA but then the anxity about other subjects keeps me from doin that , so now i have decided to postpone the neuroanatomy and startin today ill do FA ( offcialy the first read ) , im not sure how much time i should give it but ill try to finish as soon as possible and not more then a wk .
so for today im already done with doin 50 Qs and explanation and now after lunch ill start FA.
