monday morin and still ahve 2 hrs of pharma lectures , hopefuly ill finish that today and then ill be able to start microbiology , officialy im finished with my first read , now im thinkin of gettin my self regestered , bocz im not sure if it will take as much time as when i regestered the first time , im assumin not but i just want to be on the safe side . ill be gettin the eligibility period of july august septemeber , im hopin to wirte my exam in first wk of july ,
ok after the pharmacology ill be startin micro , i will memorize things this time and i will be tryin to finishe micro in one wk, then one wk for immuno , im not sure if this is a realistic target but ill try work on it , i also want to start with some Qs as i havnt started doin that yet ..........

started microbiology last night , did chapter 1 and the flow charts ( chapter 9) , its nice to hav these nice flow charts and tables in kaplan ill review then again tonight , today and tomorrow ill br doin bacteriology , its a lil long and im not sure if i can manage that in one day , im get a sore throat again so im speedin up things b4 i feel more sick .......... i hope i dont

lost a day as yesterday i got this BAD BAD flu with a 102 temp so i couldnt study a word , now as i dont have fever , but im feelin prety misrible ill try to do as much as possible , my initial target was to finish micro this wk and then immuno next , but i think there might a lil change in plann
on monday i almost finished bacteriology, today ill try to finish wat is left of that and move on to fungi

aisha2 how are you doing now?? Is your flu left??
Take care of your health first..because even u study nothing will stay..when brain is hot. Guess why dont you try taking some vitamins..my friend told be to have it which keeps you in good shape when we are going thru such a stress..I am doing that, I find myself..really okie!
May be you should try that..to keep your immunity help.

hi ayesha i just recovered from this i think it is spread everywhere it took me three days to get back & still having pain in throat & using penecillin just relax give your body rest. when you will be alright you will study with full strength just keep your kid away from you b/c it is contageous.

i have studied Patho from Goljan Review.Now i want to switch to his HY notes(which r given pointwise-about 500 pages-
).Is it good idea?

hi guys , thank u for ur wishes , im doin ok , i think i have never been this sick bcoz of a ful ....... had a 102 temp till saturday and it realy drained me out , i was not even able stand for long , so i had to just put off every thing and lie down , i still have this killer cough , but im doin much better , still feelin weak so im not sure if how much ill be able to study today.
last time i left my books i had just finished gram positive n negative organisms and was on spirochets , so ill start from there. i have been tryin to read though the FA as well but could not go very far with that ill try to cover that as well , and if i have some energy left by tonight ill do some Qs as thats some thing i have to start doin as well .

USMLEGladiator hi , well one thing that i have learned from this forum is that never change our source , and i think that rapid review is a very good and to the point kind of source , wat u can do is that , spend on day markin all the HY points from the HY notes to ur rapid review so a few days or a wk b4 the exam u can only go through the pictures , the diagrams and the HY stuff .

hi every one , could not up date my journal yesterday , was tryin to do a lil , well it was'nt so great , just did some viruses , and started with some Qs , this doin Qs is my biggest fear ......... im always scared that if i dont do well in Qs ill probebly feel discouraged and stop studing , but i think after last night i think i did prety good , i still have to regester , which i was suppose to do 2 wks ago , but i got scik so ill be doin that this wkend , and i have to buy the Q bank as well , right now im usin Q bank which is in book got from a friend.

Parasitology
, so tomorrow i can do these chapters that i have never done b4 and finish microbiology ;

finished virology yesterday but was not able to go through the parasitology , did 20 Qs last night , i seriously have to build up some stamina ,  20 Qs is the max i can do at one time and thats bad , after that i lose concentration ........ im goin to try improve the number as i will be doin Qs every day now , i never thought ill be so bad at it .
my son i sick again and he is home today so im not sure if ill be able to study today , but ill sit for Qs tonight for sure . i think ill be skippin the parasito for the moment , but ill do the last 3 chapter i was suppose to do today amy be tomorrow.
wish me luck , right now im takin my sone to the dcotor..........

Thank you for stopping by my diary.I know that it is tough for you to send your baby to the day care emotionaly.And I can imagine that you feel guilty every time he get flu from the day care.But dear, take it this way, he is buliding his immunity. And if you are breast feeding him continue that.Nurse him when he is at home with you.That will help him to boost his immunity.
It is hard for me to study with a baby.I am trying hard and hoping to get good score.I am doing this b/c of my husband.He is the most selfless person I ever known.I pray for every single girls out there to be lucky like me.
My motivation is to get a good score and make him proud of me.other wise his sacrifice and hard work will be in vain.
keep figthing girl.I know you can do this.Every mother in this foum will pass with good score and we will write our jornal in step 2 forum too.Yeah!!!!

when are you going for the exams?
sorry about your baby. just like mitty says just look at it from the positive side that he is building his immunity.
keep going at the questions and you will be surprised by your improvement over time it is especially important to build up your stamina and attention span seeing the craziness in the exam. someone posted that it is an endurance exam not so much how much you know

hi tolito , im planning for july and for the last 3 wks i have been tryin to sit down and do my regestration for the july , augest , sept period but the flu thing has been goin on in my house ( i think i have mentioned a 100 times about it that every one on the forum knows about it by now ) . so ill be tryin to get it done this wk end .
ur right about the Qs , although i was not able to study yesterday and amy be today as well , but i did do 35 Qs , and was not good , i was only able to get 22 right , i have keep doin this until i can do 50 / hr with a 99-100 % score. i think its takin much longer bcoz im goin through the explanations at same time as well .

hello every one , well i just paid my fee for the exam and got the eligibility period of july - sept , its scary , im on my second read , i havnt bought the Q bank yet , but im doin Qs every day , was not able to do them on saturday , but was able to manage some study on sunday ........ wasnt perfect or like i wanted but i did some thing .........
have started immunology , will try to cover as much as possible today , will do some Qs tonight , not sure how to include readin FA in the schedual , kind of in a panic right now want to finish immunology as soon as possible .

immuno in kaplan is great espacially with lectures but if u have 2002 edition there is a new chapter that was added in 2004 try to get it i would have scanned it to u but no scanner and thnaks about micro actually i did micro from kaplan its good and the charts in bacteriology is better in kaplan and the page they give u to write it yourself i did all that but alas a year ago that why i say be contionous i wasnt so i forgot all that but viro is better in FA parisito the chart is good in kaplan also and fungus is best in kaplan because with inc in fungal inf in us questions are coming more also well good luck stick to your study and u will get there

thnkx femal doc ny , yes im usin the 2004 kaplan notes ....... ur absolutly right bout the immunology.
well im done with first 6 chapters of immuno , i think ill keep the rest for tomorrow bcoz right now im gettin saturated with it , its takin me me more time to digest things as compaired to this mornin , so now ill pray and then do some Qs as i have only an hour b4 my son and my husband get home ........ tonight some more Qs and im think of start readin Behav,science , lets c

hi hodgkins , i dont know wat to tell u , bcoz i think im still not ready but i know ill never be ........ the fact that i see my son gettin sick and being neglected i just want to get over with atleast one exam , as i had finished my first read and now i have narrowed things down in regard to my wat source to us and wat ill be doin i took the eligibility period ...... i have started doin Qs , but things r not goin like i want them to be , im still doin not more then 15 -20 Qs at one time , may be bcoz i always do Qs at night , when im physicaly and mentaly exhasted , so from tomorrow ill be tryin to do Qs in the mornin ........ a lil change in strategy.
well my son is sick again and i wount be sendin him to his day care tomrrow, so ill be doin the remainin part of my application , the photographs , notary etc , and some Qs .......... for tomorrows immunology target ill do that after my husband will get back from his work .
lets c how every thing goes ........ its funny every time some thing like this happens , it reminds me of malinda's last post where she mentioned how she went through the phase of sendin here lil guy to the daycare and he gettin scik and all the breaks in the study and how she got her self together every time and start things all over again........ it realy gives me hope, just knowin the fact that this is some thing every one with children goes through and survives is helpful.
