tolito, smarty, prep4step1 and step12006, thank u guys for ur support , i dont know how im doin, im just doin what ever i can & it seem like every bad thing has to happen just b4 my exam , anyway THIS IS LIFE , this mornin i almost gave up , im feel a lil better but i think my son is gettin sicker, it was not that bad untill this morin, his cough is becomin bad , but i took the risk of takin him to the day care , ill go a lil early to pick him up, had a hreat break when i let him there he startin cryin , he usually doesnt, anyway ill try to do as much as possible , i might mess around a lil with my sleep this wk and then from next wk ill try to bring my self to normal , coz i have massivly messed up my exams in the past if i dont sleep , i need atleast 6-7 hrs of sleep , i wish i could be like so many other who dont sleep and get 90+, for me its a desaster waitin to happen.
i guess im havin the pre-exam blues, dont lilke it and want to get over with it as soon as possible it is affectin every thing around me and ME as well.
will start physio today , plannin to finish it in the next 2-3 days , im givin it a lil extra time as i was not so good at this subject , good lcuk every one

Aisha , how is yuor son doing now? I think this cough and cold thing is everywhere these days. My two kids are also going thru it. I hope and wish that your son recovers soon and you can concentrate on your studies.

Hey UNIQUE1 didn't know that ur kids were sick too...no wonder all the bug lessons. I hope they are doing better and hope u are ok..too..my son always makes me sick..but this time looks like my husband gets it.
Hey,...AISHA2 sorry abt taking ur space and writing to unique1....i cudn't resists...shes my journal sister..To u i wante to say...wish I cud give u a tight hug.I remember when i was abt to take my test and my son who had been falling sick for every 2 weeks every month for past 3 months of my preps...feel majorily sick i just gave up and....i cudn't post-pone my test and decided to take and failed.....i want o say to u...take ur time do it ur way but hey don't give up....if u feel u can't u aren't ready then wait....but u'll get there just continue to have faith in ur self and keep on with ur questions.....God is with u....u just can't see him and he's carrying all ur burden and more.....What will happen if he gives up?

i just have one 2 yr old and thats alot of work i know alot of moms n dads here have more then one and its amazing how the go through this.
im just doin my best lets c , i wont say what my plans would be in the worse case senario right now, i just want to give my best shot and let things take its course , i would do what ever possible in my power so i dont ahve any regrets .........

thankx for u support , its 11 am and i havnt been able to touch my books, could not sleep last night , my son was throwin up and he could not breath as he was all stuffed up , so he is home for today at least i dont know about tomorrow ............ lets c

sorry about your child aisha.Do not worry about your son.He will be ok.He just need your care now.And my dear freind, do not be hurt b/c you missed one day of study.You know our kids come first.Always family first.And God will see this and help as on the exam.

Sorry to hear about your son Aisha. It must be hard fo ryou. I sometimes think I have it hard but man it is tough for you moms. You can do it. If you can give birth to a child and tkae care of him/her for years till they can take care of themselves, USMLE should be a piece of cake.

Hey Aisha2 how are u and ur kid today...last week mine was so sick with his upper respiratory tract + ear infxn....that i had to keep him from daycare for 4 days.....but he's better now and has already forgetten till i bring his meds in....it must be same for u and more with the test looming near by...but i wanted to tell u that i'm thinking abt u and know u'll be fine......Very soon all this will be behind.GOOD LUCK!

hi mytime, thankx for stoppin by , muson is doin much better so am i , i was not plannin on sendin him to his daycare but i took the risk , i left him there a lil late and ill pick him up a lil early.
i was suppose to finish physiology but i still have the endo and renal left i just finished respiration and ill do Qs for one hr and then ill go and pick up my son.
im findin the respiration section a lil difficult but im hoin that ill able to make some improvements while im doin some Qs .......... my stratigy right now is to do the things im weak on and master them so i might be able to improve my score a lil.....
thats it for today, tomorrow ill be doin immunology, good luck every one

i started my day today with immunology ill try to finish as much as possible, i was not able to go over the renal and endo part of the phys yesterday, i was more focoused on the respiration as im very wk in this sys, i should have realized this b4 but ill keep on doin Qs ........... one thing im worried about is that things r not goin as fast as this should be when my exam date is so close. ill be takin NBME 2 28th august , lets see how it goes........ im still tryin to speed up things.
hopin for a miracle

hey aisha, dont worry about speed. more important is consolidation. it is beter to know 80% very well than to read thro 100% and know just 60% very well.
keep on going at your present pace. give yourself little rewards. you deserve it.
i hope your son is fine now. that can be a big worry.

vallia, mytime & tolito , thank u so much for ur support, thankx for the offer mytime but but im already finished with respiration physiology, right now im doin hematology and immunology, although i was suppose to finish all this by now but im still on it , would give my 100 % today to finish as much as possible ......
yes my son is doin very well now and back to his daycare.
last night i stayed up a lil late 1am, tried to finished hematology but could not make it . so now ill get to it witha fresh mind and nail this thing for good hopfuly.
after im finished with these 2 thing hematology & immunology ill do the USMLE cd, i know i know i should have done this way b4 .......... but this some thing i learned from this whole experience that things change alot compaired when we used to be single and in med school , no responisiblity at all other them to study.
im just hopin that i can make through this phase as soon as possible , dont wnat to come back to startin all over again atleast not with step 1.

and yes CONGRADULATION TOLITO i was could not write a post on ur exam experience , i read all about ur score , it is so great , good luck for ue step 1.

You are doing great.We can do this.Remember God is waching over you.He looks how hard you are studing with all the responsibilties you have as a wife and a mother.Do your best and you will see how God is going to make everything right.
And remember that we can not read and know every thing which are in the books.Just read as much as you can and do not worry about things you do not know.It is the thoghts about things we do not know which makes are forget what we already know and which put us in frustration.
Keep what you are doing and every thing will be fine.

hi mitty thankx for stoppin by , and thankx for the kind and supportin words, well life is unexpected , specially for me things keep happenin ans if im being tested every time im doin good, last 2 days have been bad ( wount go in the details of it ) , but now im back . did finish hematology , now givin 2 days to FA will do USMLE cd on the 3rd days , will take NBME 2 as soon as i feel right max till 1st sept , and i feel i need a lil more time i might extend my exam till 15th.
Allah im still waitin for my miracle

hii ayesha,
INSHA ALLAH ,every thing is going to be fine. u r doing great, just keep going and dunt stop. i know u r managing bieng a wife and mom , i know its difficult , i would have never be able to manage that , so u r doing great. just focus.
ALLAH for sure will reward u 4 ur hard work ,he never leave hardwork unrewarded, u know that , just do ur best and leave rest on ALLAH ,HE will take care of everything .
take ur NBME a few weeks may b 2 weeks, b4 the exam , so the areas wher u feel ur weak, u can cover it b4 the exam date come really near ,cz then u would be nervous, and by then i think u would wanna do only questions.

mytime & seems thanks for ur kind supportin words , well seems ur post seems like a god send right now to me , im not havin a very good mornin , now 10 days b4 my exam when i did the USMLE cd this mornin and got 29/50 , i borkdown, called my sister and cried like hell , i think she is the only one who might be able to understand my situation right now, i dont know what n how to do, i feel im still on the same point where i was a month a go when i took the NBME, well my cryin didnt and wount chge the fact , but it did help me let out all the furstation , so now i can clear my head and start again , work like hell till firday when ill take the NBME 2 to see the situation more clearly.
then my sis will be comin over for th wkend and we can study together the aeras i need to work on.
im hopin ill c some progress in this NBME, and ill get a clear idea if i need to change the exam date , i didnt know that reschedualin fee was 90$, so i still have to think over it.
