Kaplan Qbank USMLE

Hi Guys,

How is everyone doing? Well, after a month of mourning b/c I didn't pass step 1 the first time I took it in October, I think I might start studying tomorrow. Since I received my score I have made occasional visits to this forum and read many of the journals. I realized how that it had motivated a lot of people to have encouragement and a little bit of pushing from others who are in a similar situation as they are. So I decided to give this a try.

Last time I had watched all of the Kaplan videos and read all of their notes, but I guess I need to do it more times in order for it to stick in my head, b/c apparently I'm not very smart (haha since I didn't pass the step and it seems everyone else in my class have). I also listened to Golgen and did all of Qbank......BUT now I have to do it all over again and it's so hard to get motivated. I just want to bury my head in my pillows and watch tv all day.

But that isn't going to get me anywhere right? Which is why I need to start to study again no matter how hard and difficult it is to start back up. So I think I'm going to start tomorrow with Biochem. I'm going to use the Lippincott this time instead off the kaplan notes, b/c everyone has recommeneded it from this site. I"m going to try to do like one chapter a day until I can build up some momentum.

So friends....please wish me good luck and pray that the next time I take it in March that I will pass with flying colors. I have to keep the faith right?

Thanks so much for the motivation and the reply! Well, as promised I did read biochem that day. I worked for 4 hours, so I was pretty proud. But then after that it was all downhill b/c I was fighting with myself for doing it all over again!

Hopefully today would be a bit different.

i think, KAPLAN NOTES AND VEDIO is the best choice u made.

SO, MY ADVICE TO TO U -DONT CHANGE UR BOOKS,, just do them full heartedly.i havenot taken my step yet. But i feel KAPLAN is the best and required resource--not too long not too short.

rest is up to you, which books suits you better.

ALL THE BEST.. AND KEEP going..

Monamoon...Dont feel down, It doesnt help studying. Even if you have to fake a happy cheery mood, start doing so, pretty soon you'll start believing it! hahaha Just concentrate on your goals, you can do them, we all can. What works for me is to get mad! When i do so, i am a study machine! So just find what inspires y ou, what motivates you, what makes you say: I will destroy this test! I wish you the best of lucks, and i'll keep posting to motivate you, I know what you are going through personally, and it's not easy, but forget about the others and concentrate on you! nod

hi monamoon,

i can totally understand what u r going through.. i failed step 1 also but that was last march.. now i am trying to start over and study to take it sometime soon hopefully .. its just so hard in the begining but we dont have many options... and remember you are not alone in this boat, there are many ppl who didnt pass this exam.. this doesnt mean that u r stupid at all, so get back on ur feet and start runing again and dont waste anymore time thinking of the past.. consider it as a useful experience that taught u alot...

i wish u good luck dear smiling face
