As an incidental finding during an upper abdominal CT scan, a 3-cm mass in the adrenal gland is noted. Which of the following is the appropriate next step in analysis and management of this finding?


A.Observation

B.CT guided needle biopsy

C.Excision of mass

D.Measurement of urinary catecholamine excretion

E.Cortisol provocation test.

A. Observation

Incidentaloma : <3.5cm---observe
>5 cm ---take out
3.5-5 cm --- do hormone studies , if active then take out.

very nice...

just to add to that info...if cyst present --->5cm- aspirate---if clear fluid its benign, if bloody or solid tissue do a resection. cysts 3.5-5cm may also be aspirated
