hey guys
just took it several days ago..
the most enjoyable part - was CCS!! it's pitty that it counts only ~20% from the final score
the most CCS cases were typical cases, except 2 .. you know ,i m not allowed to distribute the usmle content, but u may calm down and make more effort for MCQs than CCS.
The MCQs - it's diff to remember, but what i didnt like - that there were many(at least 1/4 of Qs) not clinical Qs, i mean Qs of common sense, i.e - what do u do in some special circumstances.. the similar idea which UW show.. ethics, common sense & so on.
What i want to say is - that this is not the clinical material which u may prepare, it's a matter of experience, intelligence, common sense and your 6th feeling  . But I believe that it's not more than 20-25% of all Qs

for CCS - I had 2 sources:
FA for step -3 & UW. I liked UW the most. And of course I used the software just to ptactice placing orders and to get feeling of flowing events during the simulation

Hey fetus,
What source did you use for the MCQ part. What book and what Q source?? Did you do the USMLEWORLD q bank for step 3?? And if yes, what was your average score??
And howlong did you study for the step 3??
Ur reply will be apprreciated.

my step 3 sources:
FA for step 3; UW(combined MCQs+CCS); Qbook
tips acc' my experience - Qbook introductory tips are very useful,i.e invest your time for MCQs much more than for CCS.
time of preparation, depends how far you are from your step 2CK. I prepared for 2 months(full time),but again it's personal , like in our previous steps..

my average score in UW was(timed,random mode) : 60-62%
qbook - i dont know,as i read explanations straightly

In your case - FA or Crush step 3 + UW(combined) would be appropriate, I think..

hello guys
i took step 3 last week, and thought of giving u my feedback
the exam was definitely harder than the previous steps , with much more emphasis on patient-doctor relationship and how to tell the patient bad news and patient confidentiality.. (ethics)
some of these questions were straight forward but most of them were really tricky!!
also the stems of the questions are mostly long and u have to read quickly throught the questions and try to identify the strong points while u read (ther give u a past medical history of tonsillectomy in childhood in a man with angina presentaation... so a lot of irrelevant information and lab results..)
i thought gyne questions were more than the 10 percent they tell us about,, i thought they were like 30 % or more!! but they werent that bad...
a lot of dermatology questions too
the ccs cases were not that hard... most of them are in the usmleworld website... most of the patients i cared for improved, and usually one drug is enought to make them improve,, like hypertention give him atenolol and the blood pressure drops nicely.... Dub GIVE HER ocp AND THE BLEEDING STOPS NICELY...

i didnt receive the result yet.. the score report date was jan 4th, but i didnt get the mail yet..
i called FSMB & asked for a duplicate..they told me they send every wed, so 1 more wk of waiting..
what about you guys>?
