Patient's initial lab values are:

arterial blood pH: 7.48
HCO3-: 24 mEq/L
PCO2: 33.3 mm Hg

Patient's lab values after treatment:

arterial blood pH: 7.4
HCO3-: 23.1 mEq/L
PCO2: 38.5 mm Hg

The Patient initially had uncompensated respiratory alkalosis. After treatment, the patient had compensated metabolic acidosis (might be wrong). I understand the uncompensated part. I'm having trouble understanding how it's compensated metabolic acidosis. Please explain. Thanks!
