in autosomal recessive 2 asymptomatic carriers -children-25%normal AA,50%Aa,25%aa,and many simillar patterns.........to get this i need to put a chart and do the thing . will i be having time to do all this in the exam??? ,or should i have to memorise ,as the question will be multistep approach..................cause i find many of my collegues just answering this without putting the diagram..............any short cut for common things to remember

i dont know if u will find this useful... but as far as my experience is going, time is not going to kill u on the Step 1. While doing practise stes, I tend to finish blocks of 50 in about 45 mins, with a good 15 mins to go. Also, i'll admit that even i frequently find myself drawing up the table to figure out those inheritance patterns. Some of them have become so common that I can just work them out in my mind, for others I need a pen & paper. My point is - u'll go superfast on some Qs, and take longer on others. So dont worry about it- chillllllllllllllllll cool

I guess the best way wud be to assume that ALL the Qs are equally imp. If u start wondering which ones r test Qs ...... ure going to create a lot of unnecessary tension and waste valuable time. We have to try to crack all of them... at the same time remember u're not going to get all 50 right on a block. So go easy on yr self. Aim for a good 40 based on facts, and hopefully some more thru elimination of wrong options or plain dumb luck. I read somewhere on the forum that a guy who scored like 99% estimated that he got between 35- 40 qs right on each block. And then they calliberate it all to give u yr final score .So dont start aplitting hairs on how they do it now... just work on yr stuff now. What do u think???
