Lets say that a person dies on a Friday night and the autopsy is not done until the following Monday. Over the weekend the body is in cold storage at the morgue. Isn't it true that the cold tempreture will help preserve the stomach contents? Or, despite the cold environment, will the stomach contents be heavily degraded at the time of autopsy?

i guess it will preserve the stomach content because the enzyme lost their effect in such cold temperature.

I would think they would be preserved because of the cold temp (enzymes loose effect) and the body would shut down not pumping out anything to help continue digestion.
