I chose A because both the placenta and the chorionic villi are entirely fetal tissues...and the fact that chorionic villi sampling is used for prenatal diagnosis of various fetal conditions...

Fetal component consists of Chorionic plate and villi. Maternal component is composed of the Decidua Basalis. Maternal blood is separated from fetal blood by cytotrophoblast, syncitiotrophoblast, a basement membrane and a fetal capillary endothelium.
