A 45-year-old woman has had bilateral loss of pain and temperature sensations on her trunk and upper limbs for several years. She has no motor deficit. Which of the following long pathways are most likely to be affected? A) Lateral corticospinal tracts B) Posterior columns C) Reticulospinal tracts D) Spinothalamic tracts E) Vestibulospinal tracts

Easy! Spinothalamic which carries pain and temperature sensation, and it crosses the middle line inmediately, so deficit presents usually 1-2 segments below the lesion. IM SO HAPPY I REMEMBER!!!

right, D)Spinothalamic tracts There are 2 pathways that together form the anterolateral system - the lateral spinothalamic tract which carries the modalities of pain and temperature, and the anterior spinothalamic tract which carries the modality of crude touch and other sensations not known for accurate localization (itch, tickle, sexual).
