Hi, I will go to Maricopa/Phoenix (IM) for interview next week. Have you been there yet? Any tips or info will be greatly appreciated. I applied for the preliminary, not catogorical. So I assume we would not compete with each other. Thanks in advance. And good luck with your match.

Maricopa in general has a very laid back interview. nothing scary.Just be urself and be confident.U'll be interviewed by an attending and breifly by pd.Also u'll attend morning meeting and tour with residents and a very good lunch.Good luck. PS. I am sorry just noticed that ur question was addressed to usmleed.Since I had an interview there just thought it might help.

mghanes hamidi is absolutely correct about the interveiw day. its very laid back. no medical questions. u have 2 interveiws. one with pd , the other with a faculty. they give u a good breakfast and take u to lunch at a good place. thats called bribing with food. they ask general questions about urself. just be urself. answer honestly. it will shine forth. best of luck. u'll be fine

drshabs, its a community hospital so u can be sure fellowships are difficult to get, but u also rotate thru mayo and do get the opportunity to research, so if u impress them they might offer u fellowship. atleast thats what i could make out.

drshab, It depend what ur looking for.I agree with usmleed. It is hard to get into felowship but not impossible.Training is very good. It's all hands on plus attendings are v good and willing to teach. That is why they have a high board pass rate(93%).Good luck
