can someone please explain the difference between osteomalacia,osteoporosis and osteitis fibrosa.and the role of PTH and ca in developing these diseases??

1.osteomalacia - is due to vit D deficiency--hypocalcemia leads to decrease MINERALISATION of bone 2.osteoporosis--- Basically excess H ions from Metabolic acidosis are BUFFERED by bone with LOSS OF BONE MASS. 3.Osteitis fibrosa- from secondary HYPERPARATHYROIDISM from hypocalcemia(hypovit D). Increase RESORPTION of bone (cystic leisons of bone)

one thing to add: excess vit D can lead to osteoporosis
