I just got dismissed from my US med school today without even a chance to argue my case. Of note I had some prior difficulties. I was on my last third year clerkship. Only thing left to complete was surgery self, and stepII when heard about medicine clerkship failure. Is there any recourse for me.....anyone know? How hard would it be to gain admission to another US school. Are Carribean Med Schools an option? Really, could use the help....have tons of debt.

Hi Quinn,
I dont know about Carribean med school there, why dont you try Med School in the Philippines. It is quite cheap there but I dont know if you can stand the life there. You can go to UST (University of Santo Tomas), De La Salle Uni.... many schools there. Try all the school here first.

Hi hhpppdd,
Thanks for your input. I am not sure about the schools here. All the one's I have tried say that they do not accept transfers if you have been dismissed. Hopefully, that will not be the case with all of them. There must be others out there that have been in the same situation. The Philippines seem like a really long way from home. I will try the Carribean schools first. How hard is it to get a residency in the US after training at an outside school?

I don't know. Start applying to as many schools as possible. That's the way to increase probabilty when there is a possibility and I do not believe there's none. Take stock of things, finances and all. How, you should know best. I can only say there's always some way...try looking harder. You don't have to look far for optimism, just read your own quote. So be determined and be right.
