Left ovarian vein opens into the left renal vein, thus, it can easily give rise to collaterals preventing further damaged if lack of blood supply. Right Ovarian and Testicular Vein opens into IVC. This is the reason why in males, Varicocele are more common on left side; since left testic vein drains into Left renal vein (smaller caliber than IVC), so blood is backed-up and cause varicocele.

hi believe..u r saying varicoceles r more common on rite side in males...agreed..but the pic u have shown is contradicting the statement..watch carefully..its patients right side that is showing those varicosities...correct me if m wrong...thnx

Sorry pal, but don't worry about the pic, this must have been about an exception, I just wanted to refresh how does varicocele looks like and yes left side is the mc side. sorry if I confused you.

I think I know why the picture's got varicocelle on the right side. Th most common cause of right side varicocelle is renal cell carcinoma that has extended in the right renal vein->vena cava and obstructed the right testicular artery opening
