Hai guys, I interviewed at Sinai/ JHU at baltimore. I feel this is the hospital that calls maxium number of candidates for interviews. They conduct interviews 7day a week and over a period of three months. Today there were about 15 people for categorical program interviewing. I know most of you who had applied would have got interviews from here. So please put your experience and openion regarding the program. Has anyone got a premarch offer from here. They quote the name of hopkins wherever they say about internal medicine residency. But I wonder how much they are really assosciated with the Hopkins university. Thank you very much in advance.

As far as I know the program isn't very good. You can check usmleforum.com for experiences. 15 candidates on 1 day......thats ALOT. The affiliation is just on paper........ Even St Barnabas and Lincoln Health are affiliated to Cornell! And if you check Freida....almost all the programs in Maryland are affiliated to JHU so I don;t think it has much importance.Plus the pass rate on boards is low, there have been alot of complaints about the poor training so I'm not surprised that the program has low pass rates. I read on another forum that the PD is very dominating and all the resients are afraid of him. What was your experience like? Another interviewer mentioned that none of the residents he met received fellowship when they claim they have 50% placement. It seems the website has old facts and has not been updated hence all the info on fellowship placement and research are a few years old hence it does not accurately give the current true picture of the hospital. Also they do not have their own fellowship. Lastly being a community hospital, they only sponsor J1 visa. If you want to take J1 visa then why not at a more competitive community program or university program. Or H1 visa at a program equally reputable as this. All in all this program has received poor reviews constantly by interviewers, contacts or by their own residents.
