Why does hypersecretion of growth hormone in adulthood no longer lead to an increase in stature(height)?

fused epiphyses----so,bones can't increase in lenght----but,soft tissues can increase,that is why there is acromegaly

ya doc23 and mildus re right

the longitudinal growth cannot occur as epiphyses fused, but the horizontal growth occurs which leads to acromegaly, and hence there is increase in the hand size and the shoe size, and the patient complains that his hat no more fits him,

there re omly two diseases where the patient complains this, acromegaly and pagets disease of the bonegrin
