I have come across a lot of posts on this forum that talk about the kaplan Physiology Q Bank, specially the questions with "up and down arrows". Can someone please elaborate what these arrows mean or what type of questions are these? Also I am curious to know if the questions in the Physiology Q bank are different from the Kaplan online Q Bank. Please share your thoughts.

Well, the qns are different from qbank, may be little overlap. There are lots of graphs. The arrows are the various subs levels being increased/ decreased etc etc. It is definetly useful for someone like me who is poor in phsyio. GL

Once you study Physio you'll understand better. The arrows indicate if a substrate, molecule, hormone, etc. increases or decreases. An arrow pointing up means increase, and vice versa. Some situations cause a rise or fall in the level of the substrate. So you might get a question asking you to choose the best answer in a case of Hypoparathyroidism. And you'll get answers A through E having PTH, Ca2+ (calcium), and PO4 (phosphate) and next to them you'll have arrows indicating an increase or decrease in each. You must know that in Hypoparathyroidism you'll have decrease PTH, increase circulating Calcium (serum Ca2+), and decrease in serum Phosphate. Instead of "decrease/increase" you'll have arrows pointing down or up respectively. These types of questions can be done with any pathology. Hope this helps.
