hi,guys!
does anyone know what i should trust more-my score in NBME or in UW?
i'm asking because for my step 1 i got 290 on nbme couple of weeks befor and i got 79 on the actual exam.i'm really confused.
would appreciate any input.

i am taking about my nbme score for step 1-that it was way too low for passing score but i passed.
now i'm wondering about step 2-should i trust more my scores on nbme or on UW?on UW i get from 52 to 63 with overall 57.i haven't done nbme for step 2 yet-too afraid to get bad score-it's very discauraging....

it's better to get a bad score on nbme rather than on the real exam....
if you do get a bad score on nbme, it should motivate you more to study on your weak areas.
Do an nbme now to see how you are doing.....don't be afraid!!!

alenka, its too weired that, you got 290 in NBME, and 79!!! in real exam. Its unbelieveable...... 290 is good score.
Well, can you tell me, is that your nbme score is 290??? or your nbme correspond to 290 in real exam??? I'm seeing in nbme, that, their is nothing above 265 in real exam, which correspond to 800 in nbme, I'm little bit confused. Can you clear my confusion???? plz.

I agree with medicinemax! The fact that your scared to take it suggests that your taking a chance with your exam! if you really are going to pass, why get scared, if you think you know enough takeit, and enjoy it! find simple pleasures of life in answering those questions!
besides nbme only tells you where you are and what you know! dont worry, im sure with your usmle world score, youll do good on nbme! and subsequently on the real exam! good luck!

i got 290 in nbme,which corresponds to...i don't remeber-very low.and i got so upset-didn't even want to go to take the test,but then decided-what the heck!-let's take a chance-and i passed!i'm not too big of a believer in miracles-but it obviously happened to me..

thank you guys so much for your advises-i really appreciate it.will take nbme by the end of this week.and you are right-with this exam i am really taking chances-but i have to go-the last deadline is by the end of december.

Do form 2 or 3 NBME and see how you do...work on your weak areas.....I know for myself that surgery is a weak area...

i hear from everybody that just knowing kaplan's surgery well-is more that enough for the exam- hopefully it'll help.
