ok, what is so bad about it. Do you feel confident you will match. You have a dream on your left pocket. You have reality on the right pocket. Which one empty first? Reality can sometimes be a nightmare. Dreams can come true. Do some research around the hospital that gave you a pre-match. see what possibilities of switching after 1 year, in case you are not happy. You can always get fellowship on another hsopital. What happens if after 3 years, being so tired, you dont want fellowship. This is a decission, you will make on your own. Do you feel confindent bout your other interviews. if so, go for the match. if not, think about it. sleep on it. Thats all i reccommend. I would only accept prematch from one hospital, but they did not offer it. (dont do that anymore) However my interview went so well, that i have 95% certainty i will get it. Im trying to be positive. Dont make a quick turn, get lost and then be unhappy. Its better to stop, get map and replot your route. and if after all this, If this sounds right, take the road. GL

but at the same time i think you should only accept a prematch if it was a hospital you want to go to, don't just go somewhere because they gave you a prematch. remember you have to spend the next 3 years there and maybe it will affect what you will do after that. if you feel it's a program you will be happy in then consider it, if it's a program that you don't think you will feel comfortable at then don't just say yes because you are afraid of not matching. but that's only my personal 2 cents good luck in what you decide

OK, I have no visa issues, I have greencard. the hospital is a community hospital in NY and they have some fellowships too. Also I have about 1.5 year of US experience. BTW anybody has accepted any prematches so far? its really hard since Ive got 8 other interview invitations and one is in Florida (orlando reginal health care) but their interview is after the deadline for my prematch PLease write your opinions, I have like 5 more days to decide !

If you feel that you can be happy in the hospital for three years, then accept it. These people are very serious regarding their time deadlines. I lost prematch in a good hospital because I kept on thinking about it and they withdrew it. The competition is very tough this year and any program will easily get enough people. But its your decision and hope my view helps.

Nope - we are interviewing persons who don't need visa and persons who need visas about equally. Good luck!
