Hi,
Does anyone have any onformation on NY Methodist hospital? I know the area is comparatively better than the others in Brooklyn...Any inputs?

My interview is in Jan....scutwork has a few reviews....cant really assess the quality of the prog from that though....

My friend is PGY 2 there. NY methodist hospital is a good program. It is not like the other NY programs. Plus they have cardio, pulm, and some other fellowships. The nebourhood is very very safe, probably the safest place in NY. I was staying there during my interviews in NYC and I was safley walking around in the middle of the night. The nebourhood is residential area for the higher class people so you are safe. You don't you do ICU/CCU as an intern unless you go for it on your off campus election at a hospital in down town manhattan. My friend is happy there.
drkill said the PD is intimidating but my frien was telling me that it has been many monthers since he met the pd in person. He said he only meets him once in many monthes.
Their salary is great. You start 50 K as an intern. But apartments are expensive. My friend pays 1200 per month for a one bed room excellent and big apartment. The apartment belongs to the hospital so you will not be paying for water, power or gas.
Sad that I don't have a GC. They didn't call me. My friend talked to them but they said they don't sponsor visas. But on the program requirments list that I purchased on line, it says they sponsor both H 1b and J1; practically they sponsor none!!
