hi guys,
what kind of anemia does chronic GI bleed cause,normocytic or microcytic(iron deficiency)?
goljan is confusing me he listed GI bleed under causes of iron deficiency anemia,and also under causes of normocytic anemia!!!!

Any degree of chronic blood loss normally produces a normocytic anaemia.However as it becomes more severe the picture increasingly looks like that of iron deficiency.
