Fetal death
death prior to the complete expulsion or extraction from the mother of a product of conception, irrespective of the duration of pregnancy. Fetal death is considered early if it takes place in the first 20 weeks of gestation; middle (intermediate) if it takes place from 21 to 28 weeks of gestation, and late if it takes place after 28 weeks.
