anyone with any inputs on these two progs?any interview/prematch experience?

  #2

You got an interview from Maimonides? They havent even sent me a rejection...:-((

  #3

its ok gita_b
i too havent heard back from 95% of NY progs....its quite odd cos i was (may be unreasonably) expecting a flood of interivews .....and all i have is 2 calls and 3 rejections.......

  #4

may be you havent got rejection cos you might be called for an interview nod
but seriously ,how good a hospital is it?
prematch worth taking?

  #5

ya its s good hospital and it has fellowships too

  #6

Hey coolbabe,

when r u interviewing at maimonides?i have my interview there too in Jan...

i've heard it's a good program, and i'm sure they too have a huge no.of applicants this year.i'm really not banking my hopes on maimo

  #7

thank you ssandhu and smak for your opinion
i am interviewng there in mid december.
i was just thinking IF AT ALL they offer me prematch should i take it or not?

  #8

It's a good program, although used to be very bad. I have interview there for IM in Jan. My impression is that this program is getting more and more picky. This is all I know.

  #9

i agree with wombat abt maimo being picky now...but if they do offer prematch i think it shud be considered as it is one of the better programs in NY.

  #10

ok guys thats a lot for your input.all i wanted to hear was that its a good program........makes me feel nice to have a call from one of the better ones in NYsmiling face..all the best ones have rejected me rolling eyes

  #11

I feel the same way...it's the only decent prog i have as well...but my first priority wud be a program closer to where i live now rather than moving to NY.

  #12

good luck coolbabe hope you get the prematch offer

  #13

if maimo offered me prematch - i wud sign it on the pds table and then leave the room wink nothin like gimme more time to decide or not.. ask ur self b4 attendin an iview - is this a place which will get me where i want to go. if the answer is yes - check ur answer during the hospital visit. if it tallies with ur belief - be aggressive about the prematch and take it stat.. but if u have even the slightest doubt - ask for time...

hope that helps coolbabe smiling face

maimo is no less than a above average uni hosp in itself - has own fships and gr8 brand value if u were to apply anywhere else. easy job offers after grad. i wud place it in the league of almost cleveland and mayo - but defin with will beau, st john mich, henry ford, st luke roosevelt, et al

go get em cool

I see there is a trend for everybody to apply to ny hospitals and around the area. I Dont know, if i should feel scared. I have only applied to south east. Sometimes i dont even know where all these programs are. but gl to everyone. I have 4 itw though, i try to feel confident i will match. Lets all remember its not the quantity but the quality, and im breaking my back and bending backwards in my interviews..
