hi bbb
what does it mean when u get an email from a program saying they are going to rank you but the nesxt instance u see all other candidates present that day were sent the same mail too. isnt that cheating? how am i to know that they really mean it?

dear bbb,
when do programs send their rank lists to nrmp? is it on 31st jan or later..cuz some programs also have dates of jan 31st or feb 1st for interviews.Is there a fixed date n does it vary for diff programs? thanx for ure time

ive heard some programs rank about 80% to 90% of those they plan to interview. it isnt cheating to rank more people than you have places, its just smart on their part. for an applicant what matters is where you are ranked: whether first on the list or last on the list, since there are only a limited number of places available.

Some programs will rank everyone that they interview - they just won't tell you where. I have to finalize my match list on Feb 22, just as candidates do. The end of January is when I have to let the NRMP know how many rank spots.
