can anyone tell me the best way to remember the list of hydrophillic n hydrophobic AA ??

HYDROPHOBIC Aa

I. AROMATIC side chain.-

1.TYROSINE,2.PHENYLALAHNINE (both are precursors of CATECHOLAMINES),

3.TRYPTOPHAN- Forms serotinin and Niacin.

II.ALIPHATIC SIDE CHAIN

4.LEUCINE,5.ISOLEUCINE,6.VALINE --( blockeddegradation of BRANCHED amino acids in mapple syrup ds)

5. GAP-- GLYCINE,ALANINE, PROLINE.

POSITIVE CHARGED- ( HLA)-HISTIDINE, ARGININE,LYSINE

NEGATIVE CHARGED- ( acidic)- ASPARTATE,GLUTAMATE

UNCHARGED--- ( SGT)- -serine, glutamine,thronine

( MCA)-methionine, cysteine,aspargine

10 ESSENTIAL AMINO ACIDS

1. ARGININE---required during periods of growth(+nitrogen balance)

2.Histidnie-- plays key role in making hemoglobin an excellent buffer in RBC.

Thanks, reet. The only thing I can add-how to remember Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine(Maple Syrup Disease)-"LIVe".

And, I guess you know the way to remember essential aa-"PVT TIM HALL"-it's in FA.
