hi there ppl

there was a guy recently who accepted a prematch and regretted it.. i was wonderin what wud have happened had he refused the prematch..

bbb if ur program offers a prematch and the guy rejects but promises to rank the program highly in the match - does he get ranked in the programs rank list..

also do most programs not rank a guy highly who rejects a prematch... yes emotionally the program may be pissed and refuse to rank the guy but logic dictates that if he is a candidate who is good for the program the program should rank him..

also do programs rank all the candidates they iview (excludin the confirmed mentally deranged psychos like me ofcoursesmiling face ) or do they have a cap as to the number of candidates they can rank.. bcoz then it doesnt matter whether the guy rejects the prematch - the program has nothin to lose by rankin him high. for in best case scenario the program gets a deservin candidate.. worst case it just fills its spots one rank lower..

an img ranks at his 4th choice. conversely till what rank does a decent program say of 20 positions have to go down in its rank order list.. ofcourse harvard would most prob do it in 30. but what about an average program????

chicken soup for the brain???? kindly contribute

Absolutely this person would be put in the match!

Honestly, we don't rank everyone. There are some that are just not going to fit in the program and it become evident when interviewing. Applicants that piss me off during the interview with things that they say aren't going to be interviewed (i.e. accusing me of not being willing to change their interview date, therefore they had to cancel another interview - and yes, this happens). For the most part, we do put most of the people down - 85-90% of the persons that we interview will be on our rank list.

Good luck!

thanks ,bbb

thus if particular program interviews ~ 100 applicants ,so very good chance to be ranked. How high this is already a 2nd problem.

Let's be ranked first! To be ranked in most of the interviewed programs increases our chances, eventhough if it out of position #. It increases the chance of "end-point".

Any comments?
