that's too broad a question. do they require a resident to know this much other than just work? I doubt anybody would actually ask this.

they do ask that question actually....unfortunately...

Why unfortuantly? Then what kind of insight do you have into medicine? Is medicine only diabetes and exams and the such? Or is it a proffesion, that you chose for solid reasons?

well yeah...i agree with you abt having broader perspective to things...and i am a person of strong opinions myself.just that sometimes there is a difference btw the honest answer n the right answer....unfortunately that.I did open that discussion bcuz i wd love to have more info abt the topic.its not a bad thing is it?

No, you can be political and still not lie, and dodge saying things people dont want to hear....there is no difference between an honest answer and the right answer for the program thats right for you. If you feel the need to lie anywhere, I think youll be miserable from day one in the program, if your not caught in a lie. I have been asked this question 2 times, and Ive answered honestly. One PD liked the answer, and one was neutral, and started opening the discussion. Its the differences in views that causes us to progress....and thats what the PD told me, he said if all residnets were copies of one idea, it would be like a brick wall where everything is stacked on one another, and if theres differences in views, the ideas interlock, and cause the wall to strengthen. Thats why theres never one right answer to questions like that, except anonest one.
