Well, i cant believe this, i have 98/242, im very happy cause i never expected this result, so after reading lots of comments in this page i can finally make my own suggestions.
First of all, i studied 5 months, 4 months 8 hours/ day from books (ONLY USED BLUEPRINTS SERIES: Med, Ped, PSy, Ob/Gyb, Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology and Emergency medicine) and the other month i did UW 12 hours/day (got a 60%), the questions in the back of the blueprints and the usmle disk.
I never used kaplan books, videos, qbank, nbme or other material, is kind of hard to get them where i live (lima - peru).
I did the exam on October 19 and i got my results yesterday. I have read many messages of people saying that they felt HORRIBLE after the exam, this wasn't my case, i just didnt know what to think but i had a good feeling, some questions were very long but not most of them, i think UW is harder than the real exam (and i had like 7 questions THAT WERE EXACTLY THE SAME, i remember one of a girl with chronic sinusitis and diahrrea that makes a transfusion reaction = Ig A def - i'll never forget this).
I remember that each time I read this forum i felt kind of sad and hopeless, so many people saying that the real exam is harder than UW, that its horrible; so if this is your case i can only recommend you TO STOP READING THE FORUM, no one (including me) is 100% sure of what they are saying, EACH EXAM IS DIFFERENT. Just continue studying and keep the faith. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE, now i have to study for the Step 1 (i did the Ck first, so if u r wondering if u can make the 2 CK first without doing the step 1, the answer is ABSOLUTELY YES!!!!!!!!).

heyy congratulations!!!!!!!!, im from peru too, ill do the 1 STEP on march in Lima , ill like to know if the grades depence of where yu do the exam, someone tell me that?
