just call them and let them know that because of your personal problems u will not be making it to the interviews and explain them what happened and write to PD as well also stating why u wanna withdraw and that u will be intrested in applying there next year. I think u will be fine, they will understand.please donot forget to cancel the interviews as someone in waiting list will get calls. GL

A program might remember you in another year. I will certainly remember you if you don't cancel. Actually good timing to remind everyone to cancel their interviews if they aren't going to make it. I had TWO this morning - emails were sent to me last night. I am thinking of every bad word that I know this morning!!!! I'm certainly going to remember these two "gentlemen" when they try to apply for a second year spot here. Yes, BBB is really ticked off this morning

well, my problem is the visa. i could not get it because my parents live in USA, so the ambassy thinks that i will stay in the states. they are crazy!! well i will apply in 2 years when i get my green card. now, i will apply for a residency position in my country to gain experience (and money) and will reapply in 2008 to USA(i graduated in 2004). do you think this will help my application later??(because i will be in a medical residency in my country) or maybe it will hurt it due to the amount of years of graduation.??? BBB..you mean you are angry because they do not cancel the interviews on time right??? please do not scare me!! i do not want to be considered inelegible!! If I apply to the same program in 2 years...Is it better to say that i received an invitation before but i could not go because of the visa or is it better just to apply without saying anything about it??? thank you in advance!!

Have u noticed u get cancellations on wednesdays,i told you wednesdays are good for me to interview at your programme, but u didnot invite me . It was the last minute thing that really ticked me off. I'd schedule more people per day, but if everyone showed up, my PD would tar and feather me!!! Yes Dr. Gonzales, I am angry because if they knew at 3pm the afternoon before, I could have called someone in the local area who is on a wait list or Katzung who would have climbed on the tiger to get here. They emailed me at 10pm last night. And yes, if you received an invitation a previous year - MENTION IT!!! ARGHH!! But I will survive - and no one wore white socks for three interview days in a row! I'm getting impressed!

Dia - that is just too funny!! No pink socks, but I did see an applicant with an ascot instead of a tie! That was just too ......... goofy!

BBB: do you consider a doctor with a year of residency (in his country) a better candidate because of the experience or maybe you consider him not serious because of leaving that residency?? i am very worried about my future plans! thank you
