sorry, yes that's the book. Medical Micro made ridiculously simple. Very easy to read, and more than you need to know, I think. But it does not have Immuno section.

I recommend "ridiculously simple" too! It helps you to remember lots of stuff!

Microbiology was the first subject I studied for the boards... and I was really an amateur back then so I studied from these two books throughly.. MMRS and Levinson Jawetz MB.. All I can say is that MMRS is very similar to Levinson in the bacteriology section so probably doing just MMRS for this is more than enough.. MMRS virology I thought is pretty weak so if your planning on studying this section from the best source you should pick Levinson.. Fungus and parasites are pretty low yield (except for candida, systemic mycoses, pneu carinii, mucor, HIV related bugs read Levinson or Kaplan) which you can study these subjects from any book you want.. LUCK!

Hi guys, I have read from Kaplan, that was pathetic, NOT ORGANIZED, but if you see VIROLOGY CHARTS, it will help, but you have to read ALL the description. And if you read FIRST AID, for Becteriology, Parasitology and Mycology, then its more then enough. It seems to be very small in FA, but in exam they wouldn't ask more then that, and ecpecially they will tell you some nemonics, or some key words to remember certain organism, like which has IgA protease, of which has polysaccharides, or about hEMOPhilus. They have every thing. I will recommend FIRST AID for MICROBIOLOGY.
