Don't try to be the BIG center of attention. Hehe...
I just remembered during one of my interviews, there was this weird guy who was REALLY enthusiastic, a little too enthusiastic for my tastes... he was practically calling attention to himself the whole time. I don't know... it was just really weird, and I thought it was kinda...umm, wrong?... for him to be hoarding all the attention and outshining everyone else in the group.
There must be some sort of unspoken code about how to behave during an interview, some sort of etiquette or rule about how interviewees are supposed to behave around OTHER interviewees. What do you think?

Yep..no doubt this is altruism at its best and a big thankyou to katzung!
I just came across these posts today.What appears to be one thread right now were actually four seperate threads started by katzung.I merged them together and pinned them.I'd like to do that for more issues pertaining to residency and will definitely be on the lookout.If anyone comes across such seperate but relevant threads (old/new,by anyone) please let the moderators know as they can merge different threads together.thanks!

since most of you guys are applying for postitions in multiple disciplines, do not ever mention that you are aplying for anything else than what you are interviewing for.

Well, my iv went well.... I think I talked a mile a minute, but I was prepared. I talked about my strenghts, my weaknesses, but turned my weaknesses into strenghts. They seemd to like it. Be yourself, because if you're not, you're only fooling yourself and the program. Be prepared for any questions: "How do you explain xyz?" (something negative).... "tell me more about this..." anything you put in your PS or CV.... Be prepared, talk enthusiastically, and show them that you're motivated.
I doubt I'll get the spot that I have my only interview for, and that's okay (I am good, but not that good. It was tough competition). I did well, I think, and I think I got the attention of a couple of my interviewers. There were 10 interviewers on the whole, and 24 applicants... All others probably with perfect scores, no CS yet (most of them at my iv.).... But I have other strengthes, and I think I did okay today.... I feel so at home at the program I applied for, so I hope I made the right impression....
People, I didn'thave an interview until Thursday. Not one.... Bt if you are prepared (read interview topic on this forum), you will do well. I am adding my iv. questions now....

Hi Katzung,
You've done a nice job posting the questions. I matched an answer for every question my interviewer a chief resident asked. It seems he had byhearted your questions.
