its a good score, if you can push your self, not your date. You can do very good, around higher 80's or even 90's. Try NBME, better score predicter!!!!

Thanks Shakeel. It is encouraging to hear that. I am planning to take the NBME 2 weeks before my exam. Will be done with the Kaplan Q Bank and review by that time.

Hi there....How exactly does this NBME work? Ive been hearing about it over & over. How can I access it ?Is it an online test ? Free? How many Q's are there?

hi mks!
Can you tell in what range your score?
my aver is 65%, but i dont have consistent score, one test 54% another 78%. My exam in 5 weeksa, and i'm not sure that this good enough. I failed step 1 on Feb.,but my score on Q bank was much lower(54%).Gonna do nbme,but don;t know when exactly.

Same here, but it also depends how much of the Q bank you have completed. In the harder tests I got 55 and even 52 in one and in the easier ones I got 72. I have completed about 75% of the Q bank and my score averages 67%. I haven't yet taken the NBME but plan to take it in a couple of weeks. Besides Kaplan Q bank I haven't done any other questions. Do you think this is enough? How long did you prepare last time? and did you get time to review the Q bank? I am not feeling very confident with these scores, little worried  But guess, I have to carry on and not let my morale sag down in these last crucial weeks! I will be happy to share your experiences from the last time (if you don't mind).

HI mks! I complete 60% of qbank, doing 2 blocks every day, usually got 1 over 70%(72-78),other 62-68%, but last weak was bad, i had 52(one test)-60%.Got so nervous.
Last time I had a lot problem in my family, so i didn't study well.Over 1 year period I got married, went on Honeymoon, , 2 month was with my father-in-law in differ, hospitals(i mean i was like 8-10h?day), between that i went to kaplan fo few hours. I decided to take in November, was studying hard for 1 month, but then we decided to move, bought house, and all November we did constructin work for 14h a day. during painting i was listening Pathology lecture(was fun!).So i start studying again at Jan.15 and took my exam Feb.25(can't postpone anymore).Did qbank then, complete 100%, had notes on wrong Q. But my exam wasn't even close, alot lot Cel &mol.biology(i'm not good in that),pharm graphs, , statistics(4-5 Q in block!), a histology!!!!But i knew also that i'm not ready.After that i was working, ad only in July dicided started again. So since july 7 i watch all video and kaplan notes(2003), Pathology i did goljan audio with his book + RobbinsQ(not completed), pharm.=lippincot,HY cell biology, histo from atlas. Did some Q from rapid rewiev(will do it the rest after q bank).
After that started qbank.Now doing Q, and FA mostly.Have no idea what to do next, because my score isn't good(by subgect i had 70-80% qbook), something isn't work mproperly in my brain and i can't figure out what.
My friends(2)had 65%on Qbank, and pass with score 81&82.
If you have any recomm. will be helpfull.

Well demnat ! I guess you have gone through sufficient material and looks like you will be good at exams. When r u appearing for the exam? For me, I only had kaplan notes and audio. That's it. After going through your list makes me feel scared that I might not have reviewd enough stuff. Anyway, I am determined to give the exam in december itself. I am an IMG and have already delayed the exams a lot (Some people of my batch are close to finsihing their residencies). At the same time I am little worried about what my score would be at the actual exam. Well nobody can make an accurate prediction until you actually write the exam. So let's pray that God be with us and we fare well! All the best and keep posting!

Thanks for respond, but i'm not sure that i pass this time. I plan to take dec20, but if my nbme score will be lower then420, i won't go. my elligability period ends jan31, for sure i'm not gona postpone on next 3 month.
ALL my friend finished already with 2 steps and apply for matchb and have a good score, so i'm in the same situations as you!

Hi demnat, if you havae gone through all the stuff thoroughly that you listed there is no way that you won't pass. I think you will get a good score too. Just keep it up and do as much as you can in these last few weeks. I am also planning to to take my exam in the 3rd week of december. My eligibility period ends on december 31st, so I do not have the privelege of postponing it to january. Anyway it would be nice to finish it up before Christmas and enjoy the break. I hope you do the same. All the best. (BTW I am form India).
