Hi, I am an IMG. I am new to this whole USMLE business. I don't even know which books to read and which not to. I keep hearing so many conflicting things. I need help, guys. I want to take all my exams next year and start residency June 2007. And yes, you guessed right, I haven't even started reading! Well, I heard first aid and Kaplan notes are enough for one to score high. Is that true. Actually, that's all I can afford really. And I hear I need to take ALL the exams before August next year! Is that possible, since I haven't even started studying? And I'm in school AND working part-time. HELP!! I've got to do this!! So- what books do I need, when is the best time to take the exam, e.t.c. THANKS

Kaplan books plus Goljan audio lectures ...some people use High Yield for Anatomy and for PAthology most of the people dont recommend Kaplan..instead u can read from BRS or Goljan.

For practice questions Kaplan Qbook and Qbank

If u are determined and work hard you can make it before August. It all depends how many hours you can study and how much u already know.

What can I say, if you want to go for better score, take the First Aid first, then read their comments on individual material at the end. They will exactly tell you how you should think in your mind to use certain material.

They have gradings from A+ for better to B- for the worst,so take out good source and start your prep.

If you are bad in questions then FA has some good comments on q book and q bank and web path and pathology robbins questions etc etc. chose from those sources and use your material with full dedication!!!!!.

stop all of your activities and give full time to USMLE. take one day off in one week, bcz you got saturated and you need to be fresh. On that day forget about your USMLE and do what ever to make yourself FRESH and RELAX. and give a good shot of study for another 6 dayz!!!!

THIS THING IS AWESOME, if you have any question, ask here, you will see good reply from all of us.

Thanks guys. I have the Kaplan notes. I'll try and look for the Goljan audio. However, a friend told me that audio lectures make your studying slower, cos you've got to move at the pace of the person giving the leacture? What do y'all think of that. Since I'm pressed for time, i need SPEED!!
