Studied for 8 weeks whilst doing full time job on Paediatric Intensive Care. It was stressful. flew from UK to Houston on Oct 1st for Step 2CS, took exam on Oct 4th. Flew back to UK on Oct 6th. Took Step 2CK on Oct 12th, one day rest then Step 1 on Oct 14th.

Wow! Are you serious? You must be really clever. Please tell us exactly how you did it. What was the hardest? Are you an honors student? Please please please tell us your secrets. I spent 9 months studying approx 9hrs per day for part 1 and got 186/76. Thinking of spending a similar amount for part 2CK. What do you advise?

Im serious. Tiring and very expensive and my luggage lost on the way to US with my CS revision book.

3 months ago I didnt even know what the USMLE was!

  #7

Yes amazing. You said you flu from UK to Houston. Where is UK? Do you mean Utah?

  #8

No. Never been to Utah. I live in England.

Only used the First Aid books but was lucky as had no time to read the Biochemistry section at all.

  #9

UK means UNITED KINGDOM!!!!!!

  #10

No biochemical? I spend many months in biochemical books! Allah has blessed you with a brilliance of minds. Praise be unto him and praise be to your braines and the residence of your uk

  #11

Oh I understand now. Many appology to you and your kingdom lindae32

Thanks Histoplasma.

I used Kaplan Qbank 1 month for both and thought the Step2 CK questions were just like the real thing as my pal Rajiv told me. He took the exams a few weeks before me and did even less preparation. But he's really clever!

Thank you for your respondings. Please tell for the clincal s part can it be ok to take a translator (electric) for help?

  #14

You won't be able to take anything with you into the exam. They even give you pens to use. Luckily they gave me a stethoscope and a white coat as mine were in my lost suitcase.Work on communicating with your patients. Its very important.

Wishing you the best of luck Histoplasma!smiling face

Surely, there's a testing center in the UK or somewhere in Europe. Why go all the way to US just to take the test?

  #21

I wish I could have. But you can only take the Step 2CS in the US. You're allowed to take Step 1 and Step2 CK outside the US in a prometric test centre and you pay extra to do this!!

  #22

Great JOB, lindae32! You must have worked hard in medical school!

  #23

i left medical school years and years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!
