i get one everyday .... i quit hanging out online all day ... ended up chatting with all my friends.. and now i think i have carpal tunnel syndrome . so i qiut and check my mail once in the afternoon and once in the evening.... once in the morning too hehehehehe

1-2 rejections every thu-fri.
but it's better than no response at all. At least I know they ve' reviewed my application or may be just say that they 've reviewed  . " We review so many applications, bla-bla..".
Well, I 'm thinking - may be recently among the AMG - the fashion to apply to IM came back, as in my country.. I mean AMG are thinking of shorter residency, with wide open gate for future carrier. Which means for us, IMG - less spots for the residency..
I give some examples - OB&GYN, Surgery, ENT(questionable) - these are the residencies,which AMGs won't apply as before in favour for IM.
The other thing , is the exceptional big # of applicants this year .. what's the reason? Any suggestions?

by the way, my credentials:
95/98/CS/ECFMG certified/step 3 pending/2 publications/no USCE/1 yr of PGT in my country(western medical care standart).

Hi fetus,i agree with ur analysis for IM rsidency this year.
i applied for IM and Peds and have more peds calls with only one for IM.
i'm glad i went for peds as well....:-)

u r right in ur observation. 2 main causes for less no. of interviews in im
1.extraordinary no. of applicants.some programs told me they ve got 2500 applications for 300 interview spots.
2.more amg s goin to im.
actually i m frustrated with most of pd s i applied to,they dont care to send rejection atleast,this after we waste such money applying,we atleast deserve a reply.i ve yet to hear from 24 of the 40 i applied.i think i applied to v less programs if i go by stats most people in this forum applied to 100 at least.now i m too late to apply to more.hope we get more calls..gl to u all

i agree with sandhu.should we email or call the pds to know the status of the application? i guess after the trouble we have gone through for USMLE and getting a single interview in the end, the ecfmg should give a warning for imgs on their site,"going through the usmle is a hazard for your mental and financial health."

thats right suru.but i triede mailin the programs i didnt get any response but only 5 or 6 responded saying they r still reviewing the application. i cant call the programs as i m in india at present,I LL COME BACK TO USA ON 15 TH.its not a bad idea go ahead suru as we have wasted so much money applying,we atleast deserve to know status of our applications.good luck to u

god forbid, but in the eventuality of not being matched what is the procedure of the scramble,do they only take students they have interviewed and not matched or people who were not called for interviews also accepted?

i m in usa folks after 3 months stay in india.guess what,dry period subsided.on my 1st day here,got a call from mt. sinai,elmhurst,rejection from u of penn.but they gave me only 2 dates to choose from,which r already busy.guess i need to reschedule.
