i am an IMG from india.....and i have taken my step1 with just 78 score. therafter i took my step2 one month back and flunked in it 
also i hv cleared my step2cs fine....and had already applied to all univ...though that is now down the drain.
My ques is....if i rush my step2ck again and take it by march first week.....is it worth a try if if i participate in post match scramble with this status.....step1 score 78, step2ck flunked and tkn second time with result awaited...and cs cleared,,,...and without ECFMG certificate!!
guys....plzzzzzzzzz somebody advice me!!!!!!!!
is it worth a try???Has anyone ever heard of people getting residencies in post match scramble??
or should i just take my own sweet time and apply only for 2007 match????

Gk: I have no experience on that, but I can tell you this, there's no bigger failure than no trying. I would say, just go for it, if it dosent happen, well, what the hell, at least you tryied, maybe next year. But if you dont try, you will be asking yourself what would had happen if you did.

Dear GK,
I disagree.I think that it would be better to concentrate on the exam.A better score would get you more interviews.With a failed attempt it will be difficult this year.What I would suggest is that get your ECFMG Certification with good score on the other step.Try pursuing an externship/observership or clinical research in the hospital you are interested in and then apply next year.This would not only get you strong references but also strengthen your application.I know of peole who have done that and are nor pursuing residencies in good programs.Let me know if I can be of any help.You have not lost the battle just try to strengthen your over all application.
