hi friends this is how my ecmfg certification took place
Dates and sequenc-e of events a-re as under
25th August....................Got my Medical Diploma from university
7th September.................My Diploma reached USA
9th September.................ECFMG received my credentials which included form 344 and 345 (available from http://www.ecfmg.org/pubshome.html)
fill the form attach 2 copies of your medical school diploma and one photo of yourself with your usmle id and name on back of photo. also write your usmle id on the top and front of each page -of the application and the copies of your diploma) and send it via registered/certified mail/delivery confirmation mail so that you know when it reaches..
Also if you are in a hurry to get certified then you better open a DHL account at www.dhl.com and give your account- number to the ecfmg and ask them to use that account to send your credentials to your medical school for verification purpose, it saves a good 15 to 20 days as compared to normal post and also you can track your documents...............and it costs about 40$ to send the documents, the account can be opened for free.
16th september....................Oasis got updated that they received my credentials and they have sent it to my medical school in india
22nd september..................My medical school received ECFMG form -327 for verification of my medical credentials.
28th septmeber....................My medical school com-pleted the verification process, make sure you get BOTH the SIGN and STAMP of the DEAN on the verification, and also get your medical school to put in your transcript along with it as instructed -by the ecfmg. My medical school asked me to pay for the DHL charges so that they could send it via DHL to ECFMG. I emailed my friend in India to pay on my behalf so that my medical school sent verification to ecfmg.
2nd October.....................My medical school sent my verification to ecfmg via DHL
7th October.......................My verification is received by ecfmg
14th October...................My OASIS is updated and it states that my verification has been received by ecfmg on 7th-
24th October................MY OASIS shows that my documents have been verified
1st November...............My OASIS states that my ECFMG_CERTIFICATE has been issued on --25th October.........and they have FEDEXed it to me on 1st November
7th Novmeber.............I am writing this post, not yet received my actual physical ecfmg certificate via fedex but am very glad- that i have been ECFMG ceritified.
So -all -in all it took me around 1.75 months to completed the process...of credentials verification -(I had already passed my three exams earlier)

i'd like to ask ...meanwhile u was doing all these...do u have to wait ecfmg certification to apply or programs? i mean have u applied to programs at 1st Sep as they require? am a disperet img am han=ving my step 1 next june and am afraid i can't apply for 2007 match..plz help me advice??!!!

Hi friends,
This question is for those of you who graduated from India, I`m currently
in the process of getting my credentials verified.Could somebody who has
gone through the process tell me how much it costs to send the credentials
back by DHL from India to ECFMG?? My school wants me to pay for it so, I NEED to know real fast. Can someone please let me know. As I`m working
fulltime & studying for step 1, money is real tight.

Hi dama
DHL from India to US costs around Rs 1100 -1400 and reaches within 3-4 days.Speed post from indian postal ervice is cheaper and costs around 600 and takes 1 week.And registered post is cheapest Rs 50

I have a a couple of questions
first they list that my country diploma name is MB ChB Diploma, while actually schools here call it bachlors of medicine and surgey and the appreviation is MB BCh, would that be a problem
my school Issues a mark sheet and a study hour sheet and an internship certificate all of them in english and they are both on documents larger than those mentioned, both docs are titled certificate and not transcript. if I sent these would that be OK
