Hello Folks, I am a new writer to this forum..... I am interested in matching in a good OB/GYN program but I have not been able to get a good call until now so I am interested in knowing the condition of my folks interested in OB/GYN like me (Coolbabe... etc) Should I give up on OB and go for another programs?
2004 Graduate
Step 1 88
step 2 CK 94
Step 2 CS: Just Passed
Need J1 or H1b
2 US LoR and the rest from my native country
Applied to 46 Programs mid October (Mostly in NY, PA and IL)
I am scared I wont be able to get into any residency program next year!! what should I do?

hi there
you hang in there........it takes time ....all my applications were downloaded by 22 sept but i heard from the first only after 3 weeks.........i know it feels very insecure....
why dont you also apply for family practice as back up........you know you could always do a fellowship in obstetrics later or better still,change over in pg y 2.....
from what i hear the PD is not looking only at scores........your entire application is considered.and i have similar scores like yours.....prolly my previous work experience is working for me ....i have 6 invites ,5 rejects and 1 on hold.
so you dont worry too much ......god will see you thru this.

Hello coolbabe76, thanks for your response and congrats for getting 6 interviews (Can you please tell where you get the calls from?) I am really hoping for thes best this week and hopefully things will change for good.
Is there anybody going for ob/gyn and is having similar problems like me???

hey u all there!! congrats on ur match..
i applied this yr, ived at couple of places..dnt match..looking forward to 2008 match..
my profile is 93/94/pass/80/certified/2006 grad/no home country obgyn experience/currently doing observer and research in obgyn/seeking visa(H1 preferably)....
how do u really see my chances of getting iv and matched in decent obgyn program..i dnt want to go in any other speciality but obgyn!!!
what back up options shud i consider!!
and how many programs shud i apply for obgyn to get like 10 ivs or so!!
