Hello Folks, I have been a regular viewer of this forum since march 2005 but have never posted anything until today. I am just so happy to say that I got my CS result after doing the OASIS trick and I passed. I took my CS in Atlanta (10/01/2005) and I got the result in exactly 4 weeks. I was never confident I will make the exam as I noticed I made silly mistakes in some components of the exam, BUT all my friends were sure I would pass the exam. I got a regular 12 cases and the first one was disastrous as it was an uncommon case (Pediatrics, but not a telephone case as you might think) I completely messed up and had nothing to write on my pt note (pt wasn't present physically). I got my composure after the second case and there after everything was just fine until I ran into another difficult case where until today I dont know what the real diagnosis is......( maybe it was one of those experimental case) The secret of CS as my friends told me is PRACTISE and PRACTISE. I studied for one month (3 hours daily) as I am married to a Maritime Economist it was hard to practise with her (Although She increible simulated very well one CVA case) but I did practise with some medical students (3) and 2 doctors (General Practitioners). I focused my practise on History taking and physical and some days before the exam I practised pt note on my own till I was comfortable enough. For those waiting to take the exam, I will advice you to try as much as possible to practise before going for the exam (Anybody is fine for it, you can practise in your native language it doesnt matter because if you know what to ask, you will do it with any language). Practise all the questions in USMLEWORLD, that was the only thing I used (11 of the 12 cases I got was there). In every case apply PAMHUGSFOSS quickly and LIQORAAA whenever it applies. Know common manisfestations of every disease. Is very easy to drape in all cases (The next thing you do after warmly greeting your patient) and always show sympathy in all your patients. Show interest in your patients, make it real.... "I will surely come back as soon as I have the lab results available" I will ask the nurse to give you some analgesic as soon as I have the diagnosis" Don't be too detailed just do all that is necessary superficially and neatly. I know it is easier to say things ones you are through with this very stressful exam but I want everybody to know that it is an exam that you can pass and the best way to go about it is to be very confident in yourself and if your english is not that good just try to speak slowly. I will be willing to answer any question regrading CS and 2006 Match
