is there any hope of getting an interview in IM this year in NY as I have submitted my application on 3rd nov.i am an fmg with credentials of 99/91/cs pass/ecfmg certified/step 3 dec 2005.Should i apply for transitional year positions.i have 2 rejections fom the 38 programs i applied in, no answer from the rest yet.

you should apply to more programs. most IMGs these days apply to over 100 accourding to another post.

i applied to 40 only.dep on how judicouly u selected the prog.it should be a mixture of some univ,some good community and some bad programs .i hope suru,u applied that way.than acc to ur credentials,i think u ll get interviews,just hang in there.gl

i did apply to some university hospitals and some community hospitals.i did get 1 interview call. but since then no replies from the programs.i hope some more call do come in.

Carefully apply to programs whose criteria you have. By so doing, you will have less rejections and more interviews. You need sometime to check on the criteria. It makes no sense to apply to 100 programs when you fit the criteria only of 20 of all those programs. you are almost sure to have 80 rejections.
