Hey everyone,
I am just looking for your opinion here. 88-step 1, CS pass, taking CK in a week. two months obeservership and 2 letters of recommendation for the same from US docs, had applied for IM in first week of Oct. But hardly any response and 4 rejections. One invite for interview and replied bcak immediately to schedule it but havent heard back Is it coz I am late in taking CK? Is there any hope? Should i wait untill my CK to call programs? Have the slots been filled up and there is no chance anyways...
I need yr genuine opinion....

Hi gk9897,
I'm new to this forum and just read your thread.It appears that u not giving step 2 Ck yet might be the problem...but i know of people with only one step underway and theystill got calls.wat's ur visa status?i believe it just boils down to the visa issue.
I'm a 2002 grad.scores step 1 92,step 2 97,CS passed.i've applied to 40 prgrams in IM and peads combined....just 4 calls uptil now,2 Im and 2 Peads...am hoping for H1 visa and i think that's the majpr factor since my scores are decent.
i'm just so disheartened...
my adivise is just to hang in there...they say that calls can be expected upto early jan.u shud also call the prgrams after giving step 2 ck.i'm sure they'll consider u then..

Hey Smak,
Thanks for your reply. well i wud prefer an H1 but wont mind a J1 if thats the only option. I am taking CK in next 2 days. Had 6 rejections today...but I am still trying to be positive. Which programs did u get interviews from?
U have four interviews already and I am sure you are going to get some more. As you said, we need to hang in there....thanks for yr response. Good luck and keep the faith!
