I am old graduates (10 years ago). During i studied for both step 1 and 2, i have to work in lab all day long. Therefor, I can study only in night. After finishing my step 1 in May 2 (score of my step 1 249/99), I studied for 4 month because I gave myself one month vacation after step 1. In Oct 5, I took my step 2CK. I only used Kaplan notes and FA and crash step 2. Today, I received my score (260/99). I am very pleased with this score.

I wan to thanks many of your input in this website. During the painful waiting for the score (three weeks), it is this website and your input that make me through the darkest time.

Big congratulations!! Good luck with your match.

I noticed that you used many question books. May I ask you which books you would recommend and which you would not?! Your reply will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your gues' Congrats.

For cali1997, i think USMLE world is really really wonderful!! NBME form 1 and 2 is very good dignostic exams. Kaplan Q-book is also good, but Q-bank is just fine. Step2 Mock is not as good as kaplan Q-bank. The last thing you can take look at it is exammaster, which is not worth for your time particularly when your time is limited. the reason I used is because my school provides free access for it.

Again for cali1997. To answer you questions:

I spent average 4-5 hours per day to read and do questions. I like Kaplan note and went through them for twice, once before doing USMLE World (UW), once after completing UW. In daily base, i did averge 200 questions at most, sometime do 150 questions. But 2 weeks before real exam, I did not do any question at all becasue I had to go through the Kaplan note again (this is counted as twice for Kaplan note).

Congratulations!

The exam master you used, was that free or has a fee too?

  #13

Exammaster is fee for service. However, my school provides free access for that because my school may bought the copyright of ExamMaster.
