Hi Everyone,

I have just found out thet I passed CSA! (Did the oasis trick... so it still needs to be confirmed... wink)

I am an IMG (grad 2002, no touch since then) English is my second language and even though I moved to the States 3 ys ago I still make mistakes quite often ... so don't worry if your English is less than perfect, that should not be a problem at the exam.

I used first aid as my primary resource (i just loved the minicases) and UW, for the videos.

I studied 1 month on and off mostly on the weekend (i work more, than full time ) and then I took off 5 days (M-F) right before the exam and studed 12-14 hours a day. I travelled on F and took the exam on Saturday, in Phily.

The exam itself was very tiring... I had 12 cases and by the end my brain was fried... The patients are nice and very cooperative, and the proctors are awesome, but you'll not find it a pleasent experience most likely. You need stamina!!! I might have been a little overworked to start with but I got the impression that everyone got knocked out by the end...

The bottom line is practice, practice, practice!!! I usually practiced with my husband who is an architect so all he knew was what was written in FA. But he was great- point is you do not need an other med student or doctor to practice with... The cases were very similar to FA and UW, if you use those 2 sources you are going to be more than fine and well prepared for that exam. Time management was an issue for me when I started to prepare then by the time I went through half of the FA cases I was fine. At the exam I was OK just like the rest of the guys.

I took the exam on Oct. 1 and score report date is Oct.26 according to OASIS. I guess I am one of those lucky ones who got results within 1 month... I felt really horrible for those who had to wait for 8-12 weeks, so believe me, I was prepared to get the result in Dec....

All right, I guess that's it. Good luck to everyone, and feel free to ask questions!

Best,

Mufurc
