when a pregnant lady is around cats, you should always think of congenital toxoplasmosis

Toxoplasmosis is a ToRCH organism, and it crosses the placenta.

I'm not sure if congenital toxo causes conjunctivitis, but it can cause chorioretinitis which leads to visual problems in the second or third decade of life.
