Hi I am an IMG from india, now in US on F1 visa status. I plan to apply for 2007 match, so i m thinking of joining some observership side by side....coz i have heard that getting an observership really helps in interviews. But my problem is...wherever i have tried uptil now....all have just told me that ...sorry, we cant give you observership because of confidentiality issues and blah blah!! So how on earth can anyone possibly get observership at some palce in US?? any advice will be greatly appreciated!! plzzzzzzzzz help!!!

Hi there! I'm an IMG living in the San Francisco Bay area, and I've tried contacting all the hospitals in the area in the hopes of getting into an externship program. Some of them actually claim to offer externships in their websites. So I wrote them an email expressing my intent, and they replied that theyannot accommodate me at the time because their openings are reserved for US graduates. I heard Kern Medical in So Cal and Natividad Medical in Salinas, CA offers externships... I have contacted them and they said they couldnt accommodate me at this time. But why dont you give it a try?

Hi doc! Im ecfmg certified as of Oct 5 It's kinda required by the Medical Board of California that you get certified before they can issue you the infamous california letter. And besides, Im going for the 2006 match. Thanks for the offer anyways, I appreciate it The world needs more people like you... Good luck with all your remaining exams, I hope all your effort pays off.
